just volleyball Release Date: Why Nov 4 Is Now Unlikely

Steam still says November 4. The developer says otherwise, and the hold-up is Valve's review queue, not an unfinished game.

VerdictDo not plan a November 4 game night. Wishlist it and watch the Steam news feed: the earliest realistic window is November 10 to 15, and no new date is set.

The just volleyball release date is no longer November 4, even though the Steam page still reads "4 Nov, 2026" as of November 2. On October 31 the developer, temkosoft, posted that the game "will most likely not release on November 4 as planned". The build is waiting on Steam's review passes, the queue "is now 7-14 days", and the new estimate is "10-15 days from now minimum". Counted from that post, the earliest realistic launch is November 10 to 15. No replacement date has been announced.

Eneba: save on games and game cards

What temkosoft said on October 31

The announcement is short. The game "is mostly ready". The developer ran into "issues with the review passes on the steam side of things", fixed them "as fast as I could", and is now waiting for Valve to look again. If anything changes, "I will post another announcement". Then: "sorry for the bad news!"

Read it for what it is: one person's estimate of a queue they do not control. Steam lists temkosoft as both developer and publisher, and in a forum reply on October 28 the developer said that testing four-player co-op "as a solo dev is hard enough". The word "minimum" in "10-15 days from now minimum" is doing real work: it sets a floor, not a ceiling. The post never says what the review flagged, so a second round of fixes is the open risk.

just volleyball timeline, from reveal to delay

Every date below comes from the game's Steam news feed, its store page, its forum or the developer's YouTube channel, read on November 2.

Date (2026)What happened
August 15Reveal trailer on the temkosoft YouTube channel
September 12"3 Full Matches (Raw Gameplay)" posted, with the warning that "nothing is final"
September 23"Public Playtest NOW!!!" announced on Steam
October 19"Free Nextfest Demo + Release date!" post, the demo goes live for Steam Next Fest
October 28A player relays a Discord note: demo ends October 29, launch price $7.99
October 29The demo is gone. "I was so happy to finally get home, just see i cant play this game :("
October 31Developer: November 4 is "most likely" off, expect 10 to 15 days or more
November 2Steam still lists 4 Nov, 2026, with no price and no buy button

The demo did not survive the wait. Its store page (app 5401090) now redirects to the Steam front page. Next Fest demos only disappear when a developer switches them off, as our explainer on whether Next Fest demos expire covers, and the relayed Discord note said this one would "run until 29 October 2026 11:59 am". Players found out the hard way. "well I guess now we wait untill november 4th", one wrote in the Steam forum on October 29, two days before that date fell through too.

Why some players saw "November 5, 1:00 am"

The old date had a time attached. The store page carries a launch timestamp of 17:00 UTC on November 4, which is 9:00 AM PST, 6:00 PM in Central Europe and 1:00 AM on November 5 in UTC+8. The Discord note players quoted said "5 November 2026 1:00 am" because, as one player explained in the price thread, "The discord shows it for your timezone in the announcement." Both dates pointed at the same minute. That minute is now off the table, and nothing says the new launch will keep the 17:00 UTC slot.

Price: $7.99 with a launch discount, if the Discord note holds

Steam shows no price yet: the store JSON for app 5037200 has no price field at all. The only figure comes secondhand. On October 28 a player named Lain pasted a note "from their discord" into the forum: a base price of $7.99, a 38% launch discount to $4.95, "7 courts, 50+ achievements", a career tab with replay mode, custom lobby modifiers and cloud saves. The same note said demo "levels and save will carry over to the full game", though some profile stats will not. Before that, the only word from the developer, again relayed by a player, was "Cheap" with location-based pricing.

We could not open that Discord post ourselves, so treat $7.99 as relayed, not confirmed. Eneba lists nothing under the name yet either, so there is no key price to compare. If the note is right, the launch discount makes it a $4.95 game at the start.

What you get when it does launch

The store page promises every format from 1v1 up to 6v6, offline matches against bots, online play, and a "cursor-based aiming system and fully manual movement": every touch goes where your cursor points. There is a Locker for building your player and a replay mode for saving highlights.

Local play is the fine print. Steam lists shared and split-screen PvP and co-op, but the developer's own forum answer caps the plan at "functional 4 player coop at launch", with more players maybe later. The fan wiki says playtest players reported in September that local play was not working yet. A twelve-controller game night is not happening at launch. Our Next Fest co-op picks list five other co-op games from the same fest.

The playtest crowd has already found the depth. On October 26 a player named Noir explained the float serve: "you need to be tilting yourself backwards during ball impact". In another thread, someone asked why you can aim outside the opponent's court. One answer: "hold A, D, W, S to put spin on the ball" and curl it back in. Another player liked the risk: "If you can't miss the court, why bother playing the game".

It is Windows only, English only, and small:

MinimumRecommended

RAM8 GB8 GB
GPUIntel HD Graphics 630 (OpenGL 3.3)NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti / AMD RX 570, DirectX 12
Storage500 MB, grows with saved replays500 MB, grows with saved replays

The fan wiki still lists 4 GB of RAM and 250 MB of storage. The Steam page is newer and official, so plan for 8 GB.

Our take

Being late because of Valve's review queue is the least worrying kind of late: the developer calls the game "mostly ready" and the playtest crowd is already arguing about float serves. The cost falls on the people who played the demo, who have had nothing to play since October 29 and will wait until November 10 at the earliest. If the $7.99 price and the 38% discount hold, this is an easy buy for four friends on one PC or anyone who liked the demo. Online is the open question: nothing we read says how full launch lobbies will be, so if you only play online, wait for the first week of player reports. Watch the Steam news feed, not the date on the store page: the developer has promised a post when anything changes.

How we checked this

On November 2, 2026, around 01:50 UTC, we read the four developer posts on the game's Steam news feed, the store page and its JSON, the store's launch timestamp and the dead demo page, and nine forum threads one at a time, including a developer reply. Nobody at GameBrief played the playtest or the demo. The September gameplay video has no captions we could read, so it shows matches but explains nothing.
